Gaston Radiology (GRAD), aphysician-led independent practice serving the greater Charlotte metro areasince 1949, is seeking a full-time Breast Imaging Radiologist to join ourcollaborative team. What You’ll Do
As a Breast Imaging Radiologistat GRAD, you will provide comprehensive breast imaging services — screening,diagnostic interpretation, and image-guided procedures — within apatient-centered environment. In this role, you will:
- Interpret screening and diagnostic mammography studies.
- Interpret breast ultrasound and breast MRIexaminations.
- Perform image-guided breast procedures, includingstereotactic, ultrasound-guided, and MRI-guided biopsies.
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, oncologists, primarycare providers, and women’s health specialists on breast care management.
- Use advanced breast imaging technology, includingHologic systems, PACS, EPIC, McKesson, and Powerscribe 360.
- Support compassionate patient communication andmultidisciplinary care coordination.
- Participate in quality assurance and breast imaging accreditationinitiatives.
What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications
- MD or DO degree
- Completed ACGME-accredited Diagnostic Radiology residency
- Board-certified or board-eligible by the American Board of Radiology
- Eligible for North Carolina medical licensure
- Strong expertise in breast imaging interpretation and image-guided procedures
- Breast Imaging Expertise — Proficiency in mammography, breast ultrasound, breast MRI, and image-guided breast procedures.
- Technology Proficiency — Experience with Hologic systems, PACS, EPIC, McKesson, and Powerscribe 360.
- Patient Care Skills — Communicates effectively and compassionately with patients during diagnostic and procedural encounters.
- Compassion — Strong patient-centered communication and empathy.
- Collaboration — Excellent teamwork and interdisciplinary communication.

Work Environment & Physical Demands (ADA)
This role combines reading-room work with procedural patient care. Essential functions include extended periods of seated workstation use with sustained visual focus on high-resolution monitors, as well as standing for image-guided procedures (stereotactic, ultrasound-guided, and MRI-guided biopsies). The radiologist must be able to perform fine‑motor tasks, wear appropriate radiation protection during fluoroscopic procedures, communicate clearly and compassionately with patients, and operate imaging, biopsy, and IT systems. Occasional bending, reaching, and lifting of equipment up to 20 pounds may be required. Reasonable accommodations will be made for qualified individuals with disabilities.
