Job summary

The University of Washington invites applications for a full-time Breast Health Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant at the FHCC Campus. The APP will work on a four clinic days per week schedule with one administrative day, evaluating new breast complaints and managing pre/post-operative patients.

They will perform in-office procedures, monitor for cancer progression, and coordinate care with surgeons and peers within an academic setting. Teaching and research are integral to duties.

Qualifications

• Current and valid WA State RN licensure for ARNP or PA-C.
• Graduate Degree from an accredited NP or PA program.
• Nationally certified ARNP/PA and eligible for DEA.
• Proven excellence working in an interdisciplinary collaborative team environment.
• Effective interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Able to communicate effectively in English.
• Basic computer knowledge and skills.
• Prior surgical clinic or OR experience desired; new grads with relevant surgical training may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with multiple surgery attendings and teams to ensure safe, effective treatment.
• Performs complex and problem-focused H&P's.
• Evaluates and manages pre- and post-operative patients and long-term surveillance.
• Performs procedures per licensure, credentialing, and scope of practice.
• Provides patient, caregiver, and peer education.
• Communicates effectively with inpatient and outpatient teams.
• Participates in patient rounds, conferences and committees.
