Job summary

AmeriCorps & Senior Corps seeks a Breakthrough Atl College Prep Programs School Year Fellow to guide 9th–12th grade scholars through college exploration and applications. You will co-advise students, train families on readiness milestones, and support in-person programs during the school year and summer.

You will collect data on program impact, contribute to curriculum design, and help recruit volunteers to ensure student success and safety.

Qualifications

  • General attributes for program fellows include strong communication, organization, and adaptability.
  • Experience working with youth or education programs is beneficial.
  • Ability to train and support families in college readiness milestones.

Responsibilities

  • Co-advise 9th–12th grade scholars through the college exploration and application process.
  • Facilitate in-person college prep programs for school year and summer sessions.
  • Train and assist students and families with FAFSA, college applications, and scholarships.
  • Recruit and manage volunteers during the school year and summer.
  • Develop engaging curriculum and sessions for school year and summer programs.
  • Collect and monitor data on program effectiveness and participant satisfaction.

Breakthrough Atl College Prep Programs School Year Fellow

Co-advise 9th-12th grade scholars through the college exploration and application process.Facilitate the College Prep in-person school year and summer programming for 9th-12th-grade scholars and graduating seniors.Train and assist students/families to complete college readiness activities, such as pre-college applications, FAFSA, college and scholarship applications.Support the execution of college prep program events, such as our in-person project-based learning sessions, college tours, and various summer programming.Supporting the creation of sessions for school year project-based learning sessions and summer fellow lessons.Collecting and monitoring data related to program effectiveness, student participation, and overall satisfaction.Contribute to developing social media content and communication strategies to engage program participants.Participating in program team meetings focused on school year and summer fellow success and engagement.Research college admissions trends, scholarships, and educational opportunities.Adhere to all policies about the program to ensure the safety of all studentsRecruit and manage volunteers during the school year and summer.Assist in designing an engaging curriculum that supports college preparation during the School Year and summer programs.

Member Duties :

The Breakthrough Atlanta College Prep Programs School Year Fellow plays a key role in guiding 9th–12th grade scholars and graduating seniors through the college exploration and application process. In this hands-on role, you will co-advise students and train families on essential college readiness milestones, including pre-college programs, college applications, FAFSA completion, and scholarship opportunities. Additionally, you will research emerging admissions trends to provide relevant, high-impact guidance that drives student success.
