Job summary

TelevisaUnivision, Inc. in Miami is seeking an Assignment Desk Editor to join its dynamic news team. The role focuses on coordinating story development, securing high-profile guests, interviewing, field producing, and ensuring coverage across broadcast, streaming, and digital platforms.

The ideal candidate will have strong editorial judgment, production experience, and at least 2 years newsroom experience, plus bilingual English/Spanish proficiency. Onsite work in Miami, FL is required.

Qualifications

• BS/BA or MA in Communications, Journalism, New Media, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Fully bilingual in English and Spanish (written and verbal).
• Minimum of 2 years of newsroom experience.
• At least 1 year of experience as a Producer and/or Assignment Editor preferred.
• Strong editorial judgment and knowledge of current affairs.
• Highly motivated, creative, assertive, detail-oriented, and organized.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize assignments, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience managing multiple social media platforms.
• Basic video editing knowledge.
• Must be willing to work onsite in Miami, FL.

Responsibilities

• Constantly monitor and respond to breaking news across multiple platforms.
• Coordinate daily story production with reporters, photographers, and multimedia journalists.
• Secure high-profile guests, newsmakers, and experts for interviews.
• Coordinate and manage live remotes, video feeds, and interview logistics under deadlines.
• Maintain the iNews system with crew locations, assignments, and timelines.
• Assist writers, producers, editors, and digital teams with information gathering and story updates.
