Job description

General Overview: To greet and serve guests, preparing food and beverages in a quick and efficient manner.

Reporting Relationship: Responsible for guests. Reports directly to the F&B manager.

Appearance Standards: Must wear a uniform provided by the hotel and a nametag. A neat and clean appearance must be maintained at all times.

Knowledge and Skills Required: Basic reading, writing, and math skills. Certifications required by state and local laws. Must meet legal age requirements of the state. Cash handling procedures experience. Customer service aptitude, interpersonal communication skills.

Physical Activities and Requirements: Standing, speaking, hearing, reading, writing. Able to carry between 30-75 lbs. Walking, lifting, reaching overhead, pushing, pulling, bending, and able to climb a ladder.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Greet guests promptly using their name, and inform them of all specials and menu options.
• Have full knowledge of the breakfast menu and any specials. Be prepared to answer questions about the menu.
• Pay attention to the finer details of guest service, such as replenishing water, coffee, napkins, and flatware.
• Clean as you go.
• Check your stations at the beginning of your shift to ensure proper setting and cleanliness of the breakfast area.
• Perform all assigned setup work and side work as per setup sheets and cleaning schedules.
• Manage all your receipts; any missing tickets will be closed to cash. You are responsible for tickets closed to cash.
• Relay all guest comments to the manager on duty.
• A server is never to add gratuity to a check without permission from both the guests and the manager.
• This is a tipped plus hourly position.
