Owned and operated by Aspen Hospitality, The Little Nell is Aspen's only Five-Star, Five-Diamond, ski-in/ski-out hotel and offers luxury services and unparalleled access to America's most famous mountain town. A Relais & Châteaux resort, the Nell is frequently recognized for its award-winning wine and culinary programs and dedicated service. The property boasts a variety of amenities, including two restaurants, three bars, a wine cellar and a speakeasy. The Little Nell is also home to the new The Nell Spa. During ski season, Nell guests have access to a slopeside ski concierge and numerous winter adventures. In summer months, guests enjoy lush gardens along with off-road adventures, stargazing, fly fishing and mountaintop yoga; plus, a pool, hot tub, and a newly renovated spa and health club.

Position Summary
The Breakfast/Pool Attendant is responsible for setting up, maintaining the breakfast buffet or dining area, ensuring all food items are stocked and presented attractively as well as assisting guests utilizing the pool and facilities. This position provides excellent customer service by assisting guests, replenishing food as needed, and maintaining cleanliness throughout the breakfast service. This position reports to the Director of Operations.

Essential Job Functions/Key Job Responsibilities

  1. Set up breakfast each morning
  2. Serve guests hot & cold breakfast items
  3. Continually restock dry food items and refill all drink containers during breakfast hours
  4. Assist in brewing a variety of coffees for guests
  5. Wipe down and bus tables during breakfast hours
  6. Set up, maintain, work and breakdown breakfast stations
  7. Put all dry food items away after breakfast ends
  8. Restock all products in the facility: towels, robes, sunscreen, etc. and ensure towel bins are kept empty and dirty towels are taken to the laundry
  9. Ensure the cleanliness and order of the pool and hot tub area, clearing and resetting towels and chair covers when guests leave in readiness for the next guest
  10. Make sure children are adequately supervised by parents at the swimming pool
  11. Other duties as assigned

Education & Experience Requirements

  1. Must be over 16 years of age
  2. High School Diploma or high school equivalent preferred
  3. 1 year of food and beverage experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  1. Knowledge of food safety practices and hygiene standards
  2. Familiarity with various breakfast items, including dietary restrictions and common allergens
  3. Excellent communication and customer service skills to interact effectively with guests
  4. Strong organizational skills to ensure the timely replenishment and presentation of breakfast items
  5. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  6. Ability to anticipate guest needs and provide a welcoming and positive dining experience

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  1. Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, smell, taste, stand, walk or be on your feet for extended periods of time.
  2. Regularly work in wet, hot and humid conditions for extended periods of time and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces.
  3. Must be able to constantly lift, push or pull up to 50 pounds individually or with assistance.
