Job Summary

Shift starts at 5:00 AM and concludes at 1:00 PM. Responsible for daily preparation of all breakfast and lunch items. Work schedule is determined by business volume and operational needs.

Essential Job Functions

  • Prepares daily preparation lists for production.
  • Reads and employs math skills to follow recipes.
  • Prepares all broiled and sautéed food items according to standard recipes and guest checks, ensuring product consistency; requires transportation of heavy food products.
  • Inspects, selects, and uses only high-standard food items in menu preparation.
  • Checks and controls proper storage of products, focusing on portion control and quality, especially for meats.
  • Maintains cleanliness of refrigeration, equipment, storage, and work areas to comply with health regulations.
  • Maintains logs for cooling, heating, and temperature control.
  • Adheres to company policies and safety procedures.
  • Knows fire prevention and emergency procedures.
  • Uses protective equipment and reports unsafe conditions, accidents, injuries, or property damage to management.
  • Ensures a safe work environment by following safety and security rules.
  • Maintains a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance as outlined in the employee handbook.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by management.
  • Assists other kitchen personnel when needed.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Preferred 2 years of cooking experience.
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards, and guest relations.
  • Knowledge of sanitation standards and operation of kitchen equipment (stoves, ovens, broilers, etc.).
  • Basic math skills for recipes, measurements, and portioning.
  • Basic English language skills for understanding inquiries and instructions.
  • Ability to understand and apply product labeling instructions for safety.
  • Ability to operate beverage equipment, e.g., coffee maker.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to lift and move goods up to 100 lbs.
  • Manual dexterity for kitchen tools and equipment.
  • Perform duties in extreme temperatures and confined spaces.
  • Frequent physical activity including twisting, bending, reaching, standing, walking, talking, hearing, seeing, and smiling.
