Job summary

Meyer Jabara Hotels, LLC seeks a Breakfast /Evening Reception Server to welcome guests, set up dining areas, and ensure attentive service across breakfast and evening shifts at our Baltimore property.

The role requires friendly guest interaction, the ability to work long hours, and familiarity with dining room equipment. Prior hospitality experience is a plus and ServSafe certification is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Prepare tables for meals, including setting up items such as linens, silverware, and glassware.
• Greet guests and ensure they are promptly seated and attended to.
• Serve beverages and meals, and clear dishes between courses.
• Maintain dining area cleanliness and restock supplies as needed.
• Know menu items and daily specials, and be able to answer questions for guests.
• Respond to guest requests and resolve issues promptly to ensure satisfaction.

Job Title: Breakfast /Evening Reception ServerStatus: NON-EXEMPT

Reports to: GM

Position Summary: The primary responsibility of the Breakfast / Evening Server is to set up and maintain the dining area. He or she is responsible for making guests feel welcome, comfortable and well attended to at all times. The Breakfast / Evening Server may be responsible for serving guests Beverages, clearing tables and maintaining storage areas for meal supplies.

Experience & Education:

• Experience in hospitality a plus
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• ServSafe certification a plus

Requirements:

Work Environment – Ability to work:

• With various pieces of equipment such as a touch screen monitor, printer, cash register, credit card authorization machines, carpet sweeper/vacuum, broom, various beverage dispensing machines and other dining room equipment

Essential Duties & Functions:

• Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service oriented manner
• Maintain regular attendance, as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotel
• Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, as defined in the hotel handbook, when working

• Comply at all times hotel’s policies and procedures to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations
• Positively interact with hotel guests
• Prepare tables for meals, including setting up items such as linens, silverware, and glassware.
• Complete all sidework and cleaning duties as described in the hotel’s policies and procedures.
• Have full knowledge of entire menu, as well as daily specials, desserts, etc
• Present menus to guests and answer questions about menu items, making recommendations upon request
• Check with customers to ensure that they are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems
• Serve food or beverages to patrons, and prepare or serve specialty dishes at tables as required
• Remove dishes and glasses from tables or counters, and take them to kitchen for cleaning
• Respond to guest complaints in a timely manner
• Participate in department meetings
• Keep immediate supervisor fully informed of all problems or matters requiring his or her attention
• Ensure compliance with all local health & sanitation regulations
• Ensure compliance with departmental policies and procedures
• Ensure that all side work is completed before leaving property
• Be up to date on all guest services, promotions and events in the Hotel
