Job summary

TownePlace Suites Tampa Casino Area is seeking a dedicated Breakfast Attendant to deliver a welcoming breakfast experience for our guests. You will ensure food items are fresh and attractively presented while maintaining a clean dining area.

Job description

As a Breakfast Attendant, you play a key role in delivering a warm and welcoming start to our guests' day by preparing, replenishing, and maintaining the hotel’s complimentary breakfast service. You will ensure food items are fresh, presented attractively, and stocked consistently, while also keeping the dining area clean and inviting. With a friendly demeanor and attention to detail, you’ll engage with guests, assist with special requests, and help create a positive breakfast experience. You will be focused on optimizing each guest’s stay by living out our company purpose: “hospitality from our family to yours.”

Job Responsibilities
  • Prepare and set up the breakfast area and buffet line on time, ensuring all items are attractively displayed and fully stocked before guest arrival.
  • Greet guests warmly and professionally; acknowledge all guests in the breakfast/lobby area and provide assistance as needed.
  • Monitor the buffet regularly to ensure food, beverages, and supplies are replenished promptly and kept at appropriate temperatures.
  • Maintain knowledge of proper food storage, temperature requirements, and rotation procedures to ensure freshness and compliance with health regulations.
  • Recognize food quality and appearance, discarding or replacing items that do not meet presentation or safety standards.
  • Clear dirty tableware, clean tables, and maintain the cleanliness of the buffet area during and after service.
  • Remove and dispose of leftover food items after breakfast service; close and sanitize buffet area according to established procedures.
  • Clean and maintain food prep areas, utensils, kitchen equipment, and refrigerators in compliance with local and company sanitation and safety standards.
  • Ensure all food and beverage inventory is properly labeled, rotated, and stored according to company policies.
  • Communicate with other departments to address guest service needs or resolve issues promptly.
  • Follow hotel procedures for reporting and turning in lost and found items.
  • Adhere to safety and security protocols including emergency procedures, key control, and confidentiality of guest information.
  • Complete required safety trainings; report all accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions to management immediately.
  • Must maintain a professional appearance in accordance with company standards. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed to meet evolving business demands.
Job Qualifications
  • 1–2 years of experience in food service, hospitality, or a similar customer-facing role preferred.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and ability to interact professionally with guests and team members.
  • Friendly and approachable demeanor with a strong focus on guest satisfaction.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, including food handling guidelines and service standards.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices; ServSafe certification is a plus.
  • Ability to multi-task and stay organized in a fast-paced, self-managed environment.
Physical Demands
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Requires frequent and sustained standing, walking, bending, reaching, stretching, and lifting throughout the shift.
  • Must have manual dexterity to operate kitchen tools, handle food items, and perform light cleaning duties.
  • Ability to maintain focus and attention to detail while working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of physical environments, including hot or cold conditions near kitchen equipment or food storage areas.
