Qualifications

Hotel Breakfast Attendant

Position Summary

The Breakfast Attendant is responsible for preparing, presenting, and maintaining the hotel's complimentary breakfast while providing exceptional guest service. This position ensures the breakfast area remains clean, fully stocked, organized, and welcoming throughout service. The Breakfast Attendant plays an important role in creating a positive first impression each morning by delivering a warm, friendly, and efficient dining experience for every guest.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Guest Service

• Greet every guest with a friendly smile and professional attitude.
• Provide outstanding customer service and respond promptly to guest requests.
• Assist guests with breakfast selections and answer questions regarding menu items or dietary information.
• Maintain a clean, inviting, and well‑organized breakfast area throughout service.
• Resolve guest concerns professionally or notify management when assistance is needed.

Food Preparation & Presentation

• Prepare and set up the complimentary breakfast according to brand standards.
• Cook and replenish hot breakfast items as needed.
• Prepare coffee, juices, pastries, cereals, fruit, yogurt, and other breakfast offerings.
• Monitor food quality, freshness, temperatures, and presentation throughout service.
• Ensure all food is properly labeled, rotated, and stored following food safety guidelines.
• Minimize waste by preparing appropriate quantities based on occupancy.

Cleanliness & Sanitation

• Clean and sanitize food preparation areas, counters, tables, chairs, serving stations, and equipment.
• Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
• Empty trash and recycling containers throughout the shift.
• Sweep and mop floors as needed.
• Follow all local health department regulations and hotel sanitation standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized storage area.

Inventory & Organization

• Monitor breakfast inventory and notify management when supplies are running low.
• Stock food, beverages, paper products, condiments, and utensils.
• Assist with receiving and storing deliveries.
• Rotate inventory using First In, First Out (FIFO) practices.

Closing Responsibilities

• Properly store all food items after breakfast service.
• Clean and sanitize all kitchen and breakfast equipment.
• Complete daily cleaning checklists.
• Prepare the breakfast area for the following day's service.
