GetHired, Inc. is seeking a friendly Breakfast Attendant to support the hotel’s morning service. You will prepare the breakfast area, arrange hot and cold items, brew beverages, and ensure stations look inviting for guests.

Job description

Breakfast Preparation
  • Arrive on time and prepare the breakfast area before scheduled service begins.

  • Turn on and prepare approved breakfast equipment according to operating procedures.

  • Prepare and arrange breakfast food items, including hot and cold selections, cereals, breads, pastries, fruit, yogurt, beverages, and other approved items.

  • Prepare coffee, juice, water, and other breakfast beverages.

  • Ensure food is properly displayed and presented in an attractive and organized manner.

  • Check food supplies and determine what items need to be prepared or replenished.

  • Follow established recipes, preparation procedures, and portion-control standards when applicable.

  • Verify that food and beverage stations are clean and ready before guests arrive.

Guest Service
  • Welcome guests to the breakfast area in a friendly and professional manner.

  • Answer guest questions regarding breakfast items, hotel services, or available amenities.

  • Assist guests when they need help locating food, beverages, utensils, or other items.

  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude, even during busy periods.

  • Respond appropriately to guest concerns and notify management when an issue requires additional assistance.

  • Help create a comfortable and welcoming environment for guests.

Food and Beverage Maintenance
  • Monitor food levels continuously throughout breakfast service.

  • Replenish food, beverages, condiments, utensils, napkins, cups, plates, and other supplies as needed.

  • Monitor the appearance and quality of food throughout service.

  • Follow applicable food-safety procedures for handling, storing, and serving food.

  • Remove food items that are no longer appropriate for service according to hotel procedures.

  • Keep hot and cold food areas properly maintained according to applicable safety requirements.

  • Ensure beverage dispensers and coffee stations remain clean and stocked.

Cleaning and Sanitation
  • Keep tables, chairs, counters, serving areas, floors, and other breakfast-area surfaces clean throughout the shift.

  • Clear used dishes, plates, cups, and other items from tables.

  • Wipe and sanitize tables and high-touch surfaces regularly.

  • Clean breakfast equipment according to hotel procedures.

  • Wash or properly handle dishes and utensils when required by the property.

  • Sweep and mop floors as necessary.

  • Empty trash and recycling containers when needed.

  • Complete a thorough cleaning of the breakfast area after breakfast service.

  • Maintain sanitary conditions in accordance with hotel and local health requirements.

Inventory and Supplies
  • Monitor inventory levels of breakfast food, beverages, paper products, and cleaning supplies.

  • Notify management when supplies are running low.

  • Properly store food and supplies in designated areas.

  • Check expiration dates and rotate products according to established procedures.

  • Assist with receiving, organizing, and storing deliveries when requested.

  • Avoid unnecessary waste and follow hotel procedures for food and supply usage.

Safety and Compliance
  • Follow all hotel policies, procedures, and applicable food-safety regulations.

  • Use kitchen and food-service equipment safely and properly.

  • Report damaged equipment, spills, unsafe conditions, or maintenance problems to management promptly.

  • Follow proper procedures for cleaning chemicals and equipment.

  • Maintain appropriate personal hygiene and wear required uniforms or protective equipment.

  • Follow emergency, fire, and workplace-safety procedures.

  • Protect guest privacy and confidential hotel information.

Physical Requirements

The position may require the employee to:

  • Stand and walk for extended periods.

  • Frequently bend, stoop, reach, and lift.

  • Carry food, beverage, and supply containers.

  • Lift and move items weighing approximately 25–50 pounds, depending on property requirements.

  • Push or pull carts and other equipment.

  • Work in a fast-paced environment during peak breakfast hours.

  • Perform repetitive cleaning and stocking activities.

Work Schedule

Breakfast Attendants typically work early-morning shifts, since breakfast service begins early for hotel guests. The schedule may include:

  • Weekday and weekend shifts.

  • Holidays.

  • Full-time or part-time hours.
