Overview
The Breakfast Attendant at Homewood Suites Portsmouth provides exceptional service to guests in the breakfast area, ensuring efficiency and courtesy.
Responsibilities
- Greet and seat guests promptly and courteously.
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including proper uniform and name tag.
- Ensure cleanliness and appearance of menus and service areas.
- Clear, clean, and reset tables and hotel spaces as needed.
- Stock, organize, and maintain service areas; complete side work each shift.
- Address guest requests and offer appropriate alternatives.
- Communicate with departments about VIP guests.
- Support beverage and food service, including dishwashing, restocking, cleaning, and floor maintenance.
- Know standards for room service orders and menu specials.
- Handle cashiering duties and shift paperwork.
- Perform opening and closing procedures and side work duties.
- Answer questions about the hotel, local attractions, and services.
- Perform additional duties and attend meetings as required.
- Prepare high-quality drinks, including specialty coffee, tea, and cocktails.
Qualifications
- Attention to detail, speed, and accuracy in job performance.
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred; hotel or related experience a plus.
- Willingness to work varied hours, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Legal age to serve alcohol and pass responsible serving certification (e.g., TIPs).
- Ability to obtain Food Handlers card as required.
- Quick and accurate decision-making skills.
- Ability to handle stress professionally.
- Understanding of hotel products and guest services.
