Overview
The Breakfast Attendant provides exceptional service to hotel guests in a courteous and efficient manner within the breakfast area.
Responsibilities
- Greet and seat guests promptly, maintaining a friendly and courteous demeanor.
- Ensure cleanliness and proper appearance of menus and service areas.
- Clear, clean, and reset tables and hotel spaces as requested.
- Stock, organize, and maintain cleanliness of service areas and equipment.
- Accommodate guest requests and communicate with departments regarding VIP guests.
- Support beverage and food service, including dishwashing, restocking, and cleaning duties.
- Know standards for receiving room service orders and menus.
- Handle cashiering functions and end-of-shift paperwork.
- Perform opening and closing procedures, including side work duties.
- Answer guest inquiries about the hotel, local attractions, and services.
- Produce high-quality drinks, including specialty coffee, tea, and cocktails, as required.
Qualifications
- Attention to detail, speed, and accuracy in job performance.
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred; hotel or related experience is a plus.
- Willingness to work varied schedules, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Legal age to serve alcohol and ability to pass responsible serving courses (e.g., TIPs).
- Ability to obtain and provide necessary food handler certifications.
- Ability to evaluate situations quickly and handle stressful circumstances professionally.
- Understanding of hotel services and guest relations.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Positive attitude and desire to serve guests and team members.
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage standards and guest etiquette.
- Numerical skills for basic operations.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions and memos.
- Patience, tact, and diplomacy in dealing with guests and staff.
