Job summary

Shasta Regional Medical Center, part of Prime Healthcare, is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse to deliver direct patient care in the ICU. This per diem role supports patient assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation with a focus on privacy and compassionate care.

Requirements include an active RN license, BLS, and critical care competencies. ACLS within 30 days, and at least one year in acute care; CCRN and BSN preferred. Per diem, days shift, competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license is required.
• BLS certification required upon hire and maintained.
• Critical Care Course completion preferred.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS certification required within 30 days of hire and maintained.
• Minimum one year as a staff RN in an acute care hospital; critical care preferred.
• CCR N certification preferred.
• BSN degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care using the nursing process in ICU and maintain standards of care.
• Direct patient/family teaching and supervise other nursing staff.
• Communicate with physicians about changes in patient condition and monitor hemodynamic status.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the ICU. The Registered Nurse is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to his/her assigned patients. They communicate with the physician about changes in the patient’s clinical condition including hemodynamic monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and abnormal results and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment. Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.

3. 3. Completion of Critical Care Course preferred.
4. 4. Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
5. 5. Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
6. 6. Minimum of one year as a staff RN in acute care hospital, critical care preferred.
7. 7. Critical Care RN (CCRN) Certification preferred.
8. 8. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

The current compensation range for this role is $57.53 The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
