Job summary

Shasta Regional Medical Center in California is seeking a Clinical Supervisor to support administrative services and lead nursing teams during night shifts. Requirements include an active RN license, BLS, ACLS, BSN preferred, and pediatric care exposure (PALS within 30 days).

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License
• Current BLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS (AHA) 30 days upon of hire and maintain current for ER, ICU and Telemetry.
• Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred. RN-C within 2 years of hire preferred.
• PALS within 30 days of hire for units that admit pediatric patients

Responsibilities

• Supports administrative responsibility for the department service functions.
• Works with unit Director/Manager; may assume administrative scope in their absence.
• Develops and implements departmental plans including performance improvement activities.
• Prepares, conducts and oversees department orientation and training of personnel.
• Communicates with staff, physicians, and administration both written and verbally.
• Responsible for quality of staff and functions during shift.
• Assists Director in daily operation of the unit; directs, supervises and evaluates personnel.
• Ensures efficient department functions; direct patient care within scope as needed.
• Continually assess care and direct staff to changes in the plan of care.

The Clinical Supervisor supports administrative responsibility for the department service functions and works collaboratively with the unit Director and/or Manager. In the absence of the unit Director and/or Manager, the Clinical Supervisor may assume the administrative scope of the unit assigned. Develops and implements departmental plans, including performance improvement activities and compliance with current federal and/or state regulations. The Clinical Supervisor prepares, conducts and/or oversees department(s) orientation and training of personnel. Communicates with staff, physicians, and administration both written and verbally. The Clinical Supervisor is responsible and accountable for the quality of staff and functions during their shift. Assists the Department Director in the daily operation of the unit, directing, supervising, and evaluating personnel, ensuring the proper use of time, equipment, and staff. Ensure the efficient functions of the department. Performs direct patient care, only as needed, within the scope practice. Continually assess care and direct staff to make immediate changes in the plan of care.
