Job summary

Western Technical College is seeking a Braze Trainer to develop and test brazers, maintain training data, and adapt to corporate procedures. The role focuses on safety, brazing processes, and qualification management within the Trane Co. welding lab in La Crosse, WI.

The position emphasizes hands-on training, curriculum development, and ensuring training aligns with company certification requirements, reporting to the Associate Director - Business & Industry Services.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years (6,000 hours) verifiable occupational experience in brazing OR
• Technical Diploma in Welding
• Complete Brazing Train-the-Trainer course within one year of hire

Responsibilities

• Maintain and uphold the College values of Learning, Excellence, Accountability, Diversity, Student Success, Teamwork, Integrity, and Respect. Regular attendance is required.
• Training and Assessment - Develop curriculum and present training on safety, brazing processes and inspection; conduct specialized topics as needed
• Schedule and administer hands-on brazing training and testing per company certification requirements
• Control, maintain and issue the Brazer Index sheet and update inactive Brazer qualifications
• Review Brazer procedure specifications (WPS) to ensure training practices meet compliance and modify as needed
• Develop expert knowledge of corporate SOPs, work instructions, and business processes as it relates to brazing; Advise across the organization
• Maintain required records, advise results, and identify additional necessary training; Review brazing procedures and qualifications with each test
