Job summary

Kennametal is seeking a Braze Operator I in Bedford, PA for the 3rd shift (11:00 PM - 7:00 AM). You will braze carbide tips onto steel bodies, inspect components, and ensure production meets ISO quality standards.

The role emphasizes safety, efficiency, and accurate data entry in a fast-paced environment. Two weeks of PTO and subsidized healthcare start day one, with opportunities to participate in lean initiatives and 5S practices while supporting continuous improvement in a manufacturing

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general equivalency diploma.
• Basic math, blueprint reading and gauge-reading comprehension.
• Ability to understand written and oral instructions and communicate with supervisors and coworkers.

Responsibilities

• Safety: perform pre-operation checks for machines and area; conduct required safety inspections.
• Production: assemble conical bit bodies, braze material and carbide tips; operate lines to daily targets.
• Quality: inspect parts to meet ISO requirements.
• Delivery/Cost: support change-overs and meet due dates; track materials to reduce cost.
• Inventory: manage WIP and components; perform cycle counts as specified.
• Lean/5S/ TPM: participate in lean events and daily TPM activities.
