Job summary

Demeine Estates, Napa Valley-based wine producer and marketer, seeks a senior marketing leader to craft three-tier marketing programs, pricing strategies, and brand communications for premium wines.

You will drive trade promotions, coordinate with outside agencies, and plan high-impact events. A minimum of five years in wine/marketing with strong financial acumen is required to succeed in this entrepreneurial environment.

Qualifications

  • Five years of work experience with three years in the wine industry.
  • Advanced financial acumen with a track record of market analysis, budget management, and strategic planning.
  • Knowledge of the three-tier distribution system a plus.
  • Strong strategic skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365 Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) to create thorough and clear analyses and persuasive presentations and recommendations.
  • Ability to perform basic business and wine industry computations such as currency exchange rates, discounts, commissions, and margins.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills with experience in forecasting and marketing research.
  • Strong people skills and intellectual curiosity are preferred.
  • Experience with Adobe Suite preferred.
  • Small office support role for a diverse range of marketing projects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop marketing and sales strategy, including three-tier sales programs, creative development, PR, and event marketing.
  • Communicate brand objectives and maintain brand information in systems; be main contact for import winery partners.
  • Manage pricing files and three-tier price approvals; support inventory and product mix decisions.
  • Collaborate with operations on item set-ups, POs, and compliance at national level.
  • Lead promotions, marketing programs that drive sales within budget; coordinate events and trainings.
  • Prepare business reviews for import partners and market analysis for strategic planning.
  • Create wholesale brand plans aligned with sales objectives; analyze category/competitors.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Strategy – create marketing and sales strategy, including three‑tier sales programs, creative development, public relations, winemaker travel, and event marketing.
  • Communication – develop, implement, and clearly communicate brand marketing objectives, strategies, programs, and tactics for all assigned wine brands; maintain and update all wine and brand information in Salsify; key contact for import winery partners.
  • Pricing – develop and maintain pricing files; set and implement three‑tier wholesale pricing, price programming, and manage Tradeparency price approvals.
  • Product – responsible for managing inventory levels and product mix.
  • Brand standards – implement winery partner brand standards to provide consistent messaging, imagery, and quality cues.
  • Work with outside agencies to manage marketing materials to brand standards.
  • Promotion – develop trade promotions and marketing programs that drive sales within the established annual budget.
  • Events – work with the sales team and winery partners on market work such as winemaker dinners, distributor training, new product launches, and trade shows.
  • Reporting – prepare and present regular business reviews for import partners.
  • Planning – create wholesale brand plans consistent with sales objectives; conduct category/brand/competitive set analysis to support strategic planning.
  • Brand budgets – establish brand marketing budgets for assigned brands and track and evaluate brand spending and profitability.
  • Operations – collaborate with the operations team for item set‑ups, purchase orders, and compliance at the national level.
  • Apply strong financial context to decision making, preparing reports and presentations.

Location & Compensation

This position will be based in our St. Helena, CA office. Expected salary range is $100 K – $115 K, plus a potential annual discretionary bonus. The company reserves the right to modify the range in the future.
