Job description

Position: Brand & Growth Marketing Manager
Reports to: Managing Partner
Employment Type: Full-Time Employee
About Spectrum Media Solutions

Spectrum Media Solutions is a strategic consulting and digital agency serving organizations that shape communities. We partner with Business Improvement Districts (BIDs), Chambers of Commerce, Downtown Organizations, Destination Marketing Organizations (DMOs), Economic Development Organizations (EDOs), municipalities, tourism organizations, associations, and mission-driven nonprofits throughout the United States and Canada.

Our clients rely on us for more than websites or marketing campaigns. They trust us to help strengthen their organizations through strategic planning, branding, digital strategy, technology, accessibility, marketing, business intelligence, and long-term consulting partnerships.

We're a firm known for trusted relationships, thoughtful strategy, strong execution, and meaningful results. As Spectrum grows through emerging consulting practices, new service lines, technology-driven solutions, and strategic growth initiatives, marketing plays a major role in shaping how we are seen, heard, and experienced.

Position Overview

We are hiring a Brand & Growth Marketing Manager to own Spectrum’s marketing function and help drive the firm’s continued growth.

This role sits at the intersection of brand strategy, content marketing, thought leadership, business development enablement, conference marketing, digital marketing, public relations, executive communications, and strategic growth initiatives.

You will work closely with the Managing Partner, Client Growth Associates, Strategic Account Partners, Project Managers, designers, developers, and client service teams to ensure Spectrum presents a consistent, professional, and compelling brand across every touchpoint.

This is not a traditional marketing role limited to social media posts, newsletters, or campaign coordination. You will own the marketing initiatives that strengthen Spectrum’s reputation, support business development, increase industry visibility, introduce new services and practice areas, and position the firm as a trusted advisor throughout North America.

While your primary responsibility will be growing the Spectrum brand, you will also own select client marketing initiatives and programs. This gives you the opportunity to stay close to the work we deliver while helping build the marketing systems, content, and infrastructure that support Spectrum’s long-term growth.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys strategy, storytelling, writing, project management, events, research, and building something from the ground up.

Brand Strategy & Management
  • Own Spectrum’s brand positioning, messaging, voice, visual consistency, templates, branded assets, presentations, promotional materials, and reusable marketing resources.
  • Maintain consistency across the website, proposals, presentations, conferences, email campaigns, social media, digital advertising, and printed materials.
  • Work with leadership and creative team members to strengthen Spectrum’s identity and market position.
Thought Leadership & Industry Research
  • Own Spectrum’s thought leadership calendar, including whitepapers, industry reports, benchmark studies, guides, articles, and research-based publications.
  • Coordinate proprietary research, surveys, interviews, benchmarking efforts, client success stories, and case studies.
  • Turn client work, workshops, conference presentations, and executive insights into blogs, newsletters, webinars, podcasts, social media, email campaigns, and business development materials.
Content Marketing
  • Develop and maintain Spectrum’s editorial calendar.
  • Write and edit website content, newsletters, blogs, case studies, email campaigns, social media content, marketing collateral, and educational resources.
  • Coordinate webinars, podcasts, videos, downloadable guides, reports, editorial review, and performance tracking.
Business Development Enablement
  • Own Spectrum’s proposal marketing strategy, including templates, reusable content, capability statements, pitch decks, one-pagers, leave-behinds, and sales collateral.
  • Maintain a library of case studies, testimonials, photography, project descriptions, service descriptions, team bios, and reusable proposal content.
  • Create campaigns, briefing resources, and follow‑up materials that help Client Growth Associates strengthen prospect engagement.
Conference & Industry Marketing
  • Own Spectrum’s annual conference and industry engagement calendar.
  • Identify conferences, sponsorships, speaking opportunities, exhibits, workshops, and networking events aligned with growth priorities.
  • Coordinate registrations, exhibit materials, promotional products, booth assets, speaking proposals, award submissions, presentations, event logistics, executive dinners, and follow‑up.
Executive Marketing & Communications
  • Own executive thought leadership planning in coordination with the Managing Partner.
  • Develop executive articles, LinkedIn content, presentations, keynote materials, talking points, industry commentary, bios, organizational profiles, and leadership communications.
  • Coordinate podcast appearances, guest articles, interviews, speaking opportunities, media opportunities, and related content.
Digital Marketing
  • Own website updates, SEO, AEO/AI search optimization, email marketing, newsletters, landing pages, and digital campaigns.
  • Monitor analytics, search visibility, engagement, conversion, and lead quality.
  • Recommend improvements that strengthen Spectrum’s visibility and digital performance.
Public Relations, Awards & Industry Recognition
  • Own Spectrum’s awards calendar and industry recognition strategy.
  • Identify award, media, guest article, podcast, speaking, and publication opportunities.
  • Draft press releases, announcements, award submissions, case study narratives, client success stories, and milestone communications.
Strategic Partnerships & New Practice Area Marketing
  • Own marketing tied to strategic partnerships, memberships, sponsorships, industry relationships, new markets, and future vertical expansion.
  • Develop go‑to‑market plans, positioning, messaging, launch campaigns, and collateral for new offerings, practice areas, business units, acquisitions, and strategic initiatives.
  • Create educational content that introduces new services and establishes Spectrum’s credibility in emerging markets.
Marketing Operations & Client Marketing
  • Own the marketing calendar, campaign calendar, budgets, vendors, promotional materials, asset libraries, templates, content archives, brand resources, and campaign documentation.
  • Track campaign results, conference ROI, content engagement, digital analytics, CRM campaigns, segmentation, lead nurturing, and marketing automation.
  • Own select client marketing initiatives including content strategy, website content, newsletters, campaign materials, social media, brand messaging, and workshop support.
What We’re Looking For (Required)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Business, Public Relations, English, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3–5 years of experience in B2B marketing, professional services, agency marketing, consulting, communications, or a related field.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, proofreading, and storytelling ability.
  • Experience developing articles, campaigns, newsletters, case studies, presentations, reports, or sales collateral.
  • Strong project management skills with experience managing multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities.
  • Experience coordinating conferences, webinars, sponsorships, events, or public‑facing marketing initiatives.
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms, email marketing tools, WordPress, Google Analytics, SEO, social media, and digital marketing practices.
  • A self‑starter mindset with the ability to take ownership, solve problems, and keep work moving.
Nice to Have
  • Experience working in an agency, consulting firm, professional services firm, nonprofit, association, chamber, EDO, or civic‑focused organization.
  • Experience with proposals, RFP responses, sales enablement, research, whitepapers, or thought leadership campaigns.
  • Familiarity with BIDs, Chambers, Downtown Organizations, DMOs, EDOs, municipalities, or place‑based nonprofits.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Figma, Google Slides, AI tools, automation platforms, and emerging content workflows.
A successful Brand & Growth Marketing Manager will:
  • Strengthen Spectrum’s reputation as a trusted advisor within the industries we serve.
  • Build and maintain a consistent brand across proposals, presentations, conferences, digital channels, and client touchpoints.
  • Produce meaningful thought leadership that educates our audience and opens new opportunities.
  • Give Client Growth Associates stronger materials, campaigns, and follow‑up resources to support business development.
  • Improve the quality, consistency, and effectiveness of Spectrum’s proposals and sales collateral.
  • Create polished conference experiences that generate relationships, visibility, and qualified opportunities.
  • Help launch new services, practice areas, and strategic initiatives with clear positioning and strong marketing support.
  • Improve Spectrum’s website, email marketing, SEO, content performance, and digital visibility.
  • Build marketing systems that support long‑term growth and eventually allow the department to expand.
