Job summary

Thinking Machines is seeking an experienced brand designer to shape how our brand appears across our website, launches, publications, and physical artifacts. You’ll guide ideas from exploration to finished work with a focus on typography, imagery, and interaction.

You’ll collaborate with designers, engineers, and researchers to create reusable systems and data-driven visuals, while ensuring accessibility and pixel-perfect execution.

Qualifications

• A portfolio showing original ideas, strong visual design fundamentals, and care in execution across different formats.
• The technical capability to build and ship digital work, with attention to accessibility, interaction details, and quality.
• Initiative and clear communication – comfortable shaping an open brief, sharing work early, seeking feedback, and carrying a project through to completion.

Responsibilities

• Develop visual ideas and evolve our brand through real projects, with care for typography, imagery, composition, and interaction.
• Design, build, and improve our website, using code as part of your creative practice to explore ideas and create thoughtful digital experiences.
• Make tools and reusable systems that expand what the team can create – from artwork generators to data-driven charts and publishing components.
• Collaborate with illustrators, animators, and graphic designers, bringing their contributions into finished projects and helping with production where needed.
