Job summary

Checkmate and mate is seeking a creative leader to own how we show up in the world across consumer social, community, events and written content. You’ll shoot, edit, write, post, and actively participate in events—this is a builder role, not a briefing role.

You’ll shape the voice for both brands, grow a large follower base, and develop a repeatable content system. You’ll work with a remote-first team near major cities in the US.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years in consumer brand, social or community.
• You edit your own video and stills using CapCut, Premiere or Canva.
• Comfortable on camera, or able to recruit/direct people who are.
• You write well and will be asked for samples.
• You've run paid social and understand campaign structure and testing.
• You've built something from close to zero, not just modest growth.

Responsibilities

• Own TikTok, Instagram and YouTube end to end: calendar, ideas, scripts, shoot, edit, caption, comments.
• Build and run our shopper and creator community: recruit ambassadors, build UGC pipeline, keep people engaged.
• Ghostwrite LinkedIn for founders, run company pages, land mate's distinct B2B voice for ecommerce marketers.
• Plan consumer meetups and the conference event circuit, manage guest lists, formats and follow-ups.
• Feed the paid creative process with variants, hooks and campaign structure input.
