Job summary

Service Steel Aerospace is seeking a Branch Quality Manager to lead quality systems and continuous improvement for multiple branches, ensuring AS9100 compliance and customer satisfaction.

You will oversee audits, supplier corrective actions, calibration programs, and material assessments while collaborating with operations and sales to meet customer requirements in a 100% on-site role.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in a quality supervisory or quality management position in the metal industry.
  • Ability to make sound decisions based on a combination of factors.
  • Expert knowledge of raw materials, production processes and quality systems or techniques.
  • Excellent communications skills required.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively.
  • Self-motivated and able to act on own initiative with minimal supervision.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
  • General computer knowledge including Word, Outlook and Excel.
  • High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and improve the quality management system to maintain AS9100 certification.
  • Serve as company representative for customer and registrar audits.
  • Investigate, analyze, and resolve customer quality issues and complaints.
  • Collaborate with management to meet and improve quality standards.
  • Interact with vendors to ensure product compliance and resolve issues.
  • Issue and track corrective actions to suppliers as required.
  • Conduct internal audits to meet AS9100 and QMS requirements.
  • Review export compliance requirements and procedures.
  • Manage calibration of tools and calibration logs.
  • Provide guidance on aerospace specs and material test reports.
  • Assist operations and sales in determining material compliance with customer needs.
  • Manage quarantine and disposition of non-conforming product/material.
  • Maintain corrective action system for internal, supplier, and customer actions.
  • Foster cooperative relationships with coworkers and customers.
  • Keep knowledge of materials, processes, specs, and QC techniques up to date.
  • Maintain control documents as required by QMS.

We are looking for a Branch Quality Manager to join our team!

The Branch Quality Manager will be responsible for the following:

  • Maintain and improve the quality management system to maintain AS9100 certification.
  • Company representative for customer and registrar audits as required.
  • Investigate, analyze, and resolve customer issues and complaints related to quality.
  • Collaborate with other members of management to ensure quality standards are met and continually improved.
  • Interacts with vendors to ensure product compliance requirements are met and issues are resolved.
  • Issue and track corrective actions to suppliers as required.
  • Conduct internal audits to meet AS9100, export compliance, and Service Steel Aerospace QMS requirements.
  • Review and ensure export compliance requirements and procedures are followed.
  • Manage calibration of tools and calibration log.
  • Give guidance on aerospace specifications and material test reports to all staff members.
  • Assist operations and sales staff in determining if material and material source meets customer requirements.
  • Manage the quarantine and disposition of non-conforming product or material.
  • Maintains the corrective action system for internal, supplier and customer requested corrective actions at the branch level.
  • Ability to initiate and maintain cooperative relationships with co-workers, as well as internal/external customers.
  • Must continually improve knowledge of raw materials, production processes, specifications, and quality control techniques, to keep knowledge up to date.
  • Maintain control documents as required by Quality Management System.
  • May be assigned multiple branches.
  • All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Compensation Range

The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $90,000.00/Yr. - USD $140,000.00/Yr. depending on experience, qualifications, and location.
