Job summary

GALLS in Columbus, OH is seeking a TailorSeamstress Production Associate to alter uniforms for public safety professionals. You'll take measurements, mark garments, and perform sewing alterations using industrial sewing machines.

You will operate a heat press, follow work instructions, and help meet production deadlines while maintaining high quality. Training is provided, and a strong attention to detail is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in alterations preferred; training provided by GALLS.
• Skilled in operating industrial sewing machines.
• Ability to read work instructions in English.
• Detail oriented with strong quality focus.

Responsibilities

• Read and accurately identify the customers needs per the Work Instruction Document.
• Take necessary measurements and mark garments for alterations.
• Operate a heat press safely and efficiently.
• Perform uniform sewing alterations and embellishments with accuracy to include hems, zippers, patches, name strips.
• Operate industrial sewing machinery and meet production deadlines.
• Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.

What you will do

• Read and accurately identify the customers needs per the Work Instruction Document
• Take necessary measurements and mark garments for alterations with the ability to problem solve individual sizing issues
• Operate a heat press safely and efficiently
• Perform uniform sewing alterations and embellishments with accuracy and efficiency to include taking up stride lengtheningshortening tails on shirts tapering shirts adjusting waists hemming trousers mending tears replacing zippers applying patches applying name strips applying striping and applying patches
• Operate industrial sewing machinery and meet production deadlines
• Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs

What you will bring

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required
• Previous experience in Alterations preferred GALLS will train
• Well versed in industrial Sewing machines preferred GALLS will train
• Ability to effectively readreceive work instructions in English
• Extremely detail oriented and quality focused youre not happy with mistakes
• Solid communication both written and verbal and interpersonal skills
• Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time bend stretch twist and lift with or without reasonable accommodation
