Job summary

Galls is seeking a Seamstress and Embroidery Operator in Raleigh, NC to alter uniforms and equipment for public safety professionals. You will use embroidery machines to place logos and personalization on garments, hats and name-strips, ensuring accurate measurements and fittings.

The production team role supports our national footprint and value-added services. Responsibilities include taking measurements, operating a heat press, performing alterations, sewing, mending, and embroidery setup

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in alterations and embroidering preferred.
• Able to read/receive work instructions in English.
• Detail-oriented with strong quality focus.
• Solid communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to stand or sit for long periods and lift as needed.

Responsibilities

• Read and identify customer needs per Work Instruction Document.
• Take measurements and mark garments for alterations.
• Operate a heat press safely and efficiently.
• Perform embroidery and alterations with accuracy on garments, hats, name-strips, patches, and striping.
• Adjust embroidery setups and operate embroidery machines; perform minor repairs.
• Meet production deadlines and inspect merchandise against order specs.
• Other duties as needed.

As a Seamstress and Embroidery Operator at Galls you will be hands-on altering our nation\'s Public Safety professionals\' uniforms and equipment. You will ensure all measurements and fittings are done properly, accurately, and efficiently - so that they can wear that uniform proudly and utilize embroidery machine(s) to place logos and personalization on garments, hats, and name-strips. At Galls, we are P.R.O.U.D. to Serve, and it all starts on our Production and Value-Added Service Team.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Read and accurately identify the customer\'s needs per the Work Instruction Document
• Take necessary measurements and mark garments for alterations with ability to problem solve individual sizing issues
• Operate a heat press safely and efficiently
• Perform uniform sewing, alterations, and embellishments with accuracy and efficiency to include taking up stride, lengthening/shortening tails on shirts, tapering shirts, adjusting waists, hemming trousers, mending tears, replacing zippers, applying patches, applying name strips, applying striping, and applying patches
• Complete adjustments to embroidery set ups.
• Operate embroidery machines and Perform minor machine repairs if needed.
• Operate industrial sewing machinery and meet production deadlines
• Inspect merchandise against order specifications
• Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required
• Previous experience in Alterations and with embroidering preferred.
• Well-versed in industrial Sewing machines preferred.
• Ability to effectively read/receive work instructions in English
• Extremely detail-oriented and quality-focused - you\'re not happy with mistakes
• Solid communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
• Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time, bend, stretch, twist, and lift, with or without reasonable accommodation
