Job summary

Van Meter in Urbandale, IA is seeking a Branch Team Member to support our branch by performing counter, delivery, and warehouse duties while delivering excellent customer service. You will learn product offerings, estimate delivery dates, load and unload vehicles, operate a forklift when needed, and help maintain inventory and safety standards across the branch.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
Previous distribution experience preferred.
Previous customer service experience preferred.
Ability to lift 100 lbs.
DOT qualifications required or able to meet.
Proficiency with Excel and basic computer skills.
CDL Class B preferred; in some locations it is required.
Knowledge of Eclipse or similar systems is a plus.
Proficient in operating lift equipment.

Responsibilities

Service a diversity of customers by providing projects or information on products or services.
Estimate date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of vendor production and delivery schedule.
Load and unload the vehicle in a safe and efficient manner.
Deliver products to local customers and maintain inventory accuracy.
Picks customer orders using RF scanner and prepares and ships orders as needed.
Cross-train in warehouse operations and participate in process improvements.
