As a qualification for this position, the Branch Manager Trainee will be placed in a local retail branch and must successfully complete a comprehensive training program that will give them a working knowledge of our industry, our customers, and our organization. This program is designed around branch-oriented and professional development training to ensure that, once completed, the Trainee will be able to meet the demanding challenges of this position. Upon completion, the candidate will be required to meet and exceed both divisional and regional objectives for the fiscal performance of a branch, which includes sales, budgeting, gross margins, and operational expenses. Other key areas of responsibility include safety, customer service, inventory levels, accounts receivable, and personnel issues.

1. Attend and successfully complete all training modules provided by Airgas in the development role.
2. Responsible for the safety, health, and welfare of sales, operations, and all associates.
3. Administers, and is responsible for, safety policies and procedures in accordance with regional, SAFECOR, local, state, and federal guidelines.
4. Answer customer inquiries.
5. Enter customer orders into the computer system.
6. Coordinate with sales personnel to grow market sales and margins.
7. Pull and package customer orders.
8. Receive inventory as necessary.
9. Pre-call customers.
10. Select cash and charge orders daily.
11. Reconcile cash and bank deposits.
12. Reconcile open order edit lists, quote lists, purchase order reports by item, and selected order edit lists.
13. Ensure prompt acknowledgment and service to internal and external customers in a courteous manner.
14. Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by management.

Are you a MATCH?

• Bachelor's degree preferred; a combination of college training and experience will be considered.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Experience with SAP is a plus.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently and work independently.
• Professional communication skills (verbal and written).
• Basic product knowledge of welding, safety, gases, and supplies is preferred.
• Understanding of financial accounting terms and principles including Gross Margin, ROI, P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statement.
• Professional phone skills.
• Forklift experience is preferred.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Leadership skills and problem-solving abilities.
