Position Overview

The Branch Manager Trainee will be placed in a local retail branch and must successfully complete a comprehensive training program covering industry knowledge, customer relations, and organizational understanding. The program focuses on branch operations and professional development, preparing the Trainee to meet and exceed divisional and regional performance objectives, including sales, budgeting, gross margins, and operational expenses. Responsibilities also include safety management, customer service, inventory control, accounts receivable, and personnel issue resolution.

Responsibilities
  1. Attend and complete all Airgas training modules for the role.
  2. Ensure safety, health, and welfare of team members.
  3. Implement and adhere to safety policies and procedures in compliance with regional, SAFECOR, local, state, and federal guidelines.
  4. Handle customer inquiries and process orders via computer entry.
  5. Coordinate with sales personnel to grow market sales and margins.
  6. Manage order pulling, packaging, and receiving as necessary.
  7. Perform daily order selection, cash and charge order reconciliation, and bank deposits.
  8. Ensure prompt, courteous service to internal and external customers.
  9. Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; relevant experience considered.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; SAP experience a plus.
  • Strong multitasking, independence, and professional communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of welding, safety, gases, and supplies preferred.
  • Understanding of financial principles such as gross margin, ROI, and financial statements.
  • Forklift experience preferred.
  • Leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills required.
