Job summary

Axillon Aerospace is seeking an experienced manufacturing engineer to plan and design processes, determine tooling needs, and improve fabrication of both new and existing products. The role emphasizes lean methods, data analysis, and collaboration to meet production goals and safety standards.

The candidate will support introductions of new products to production, optimize layouts, and lead process improvement initiatives across the manufacturing and supply chain environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Experience applying core engineering concepts to manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen for continuous improvement.
  • Ability to transfer products into production via manufacturability.
  • Strong data analysis and reporting abilities.

Responsibilities

Job description

Under general direction, the engineer provides extended expertise in planning and designing manufacturing processes to improve the fabrication of new and existing Axillon Aerospace products. Meets high level of engineering standards per design specifications.

Required Skills
  • Provide extended expertise in planning and designing manufacturing processes to improve the manufacture of new and existing Axillon Aerospace products. Determine the parts, equipment, and tools needed in order to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specifications. Maintain labor standards, safety initiatives, facility layout, capacity analysis, and process simulation. Contribute to the completion of organizational projects and goals.
  • Participate in the introduction of new products to the manufacturing and supply chain environment. Transfer new products into production from a “design for manufacturability” approach.
  • Develop process improvement projects aligned with business strategies. Analyze production processes and output quality to improve efficiency in production yields and throughput. Maximize efficiency by analyzing layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization. Support capital equipment studies and proposal activities.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
Required Experience
  • Advanced knowledge and ability to apply core concepts of engineering (mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, materials science, structural analysis, and electricity)
  • Excellent ability to apply a systematic, disciplined, and analytical approach to problem-solving
  • Proficient knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or other continuous improvement
  • Advanced knowledge of data structures and database programming
  • Ability to explain a range of complex technical information
  • Ability to use existing procedures to solve problems
  • Ability to research and analyze data effectively
  • Ability to gather data, to compile information, and prepare reports
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and ability to multi-task
  • Strong prioritization skills
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and web-browsers
