Job Description
Role

To direct the operations of an assigned branch, ensuring organizational, financial, operational, service, and growth goals are met; ensures consistently excellent service to members by attitude, example, and leadership.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
  • Daily Branch Operations - Directs and oversees branch operations to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives. Monitors branch performance against established targets and implement corrective actions as necessary to address performance gaps. Provides guidance and support to Financial Service Representatives in balancing daily transactions and regularly examines branch activities to ensure compliance with credit union policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Actively promotes organizational growth by monitoring branch performance metrics and engaging branch staff to drive exceptional results. Recommends operational and procedural improvements to the Director of Retail Experience to maintain effective, efficient, and compliant branch operations. Assumes full accountability for personal performance and that of all branch staff, ensuring the branch operates in a safe, compliant, and member-focused manner.
  • Member Service Standards - The degree to which all member service standards are demonstrated in the day-to-day business environment, such as but not limited to Show Respect, Educate and Empower, Own It, and Professional Presence. The level of support and camaraderie for coworkers and peers. Service quality and experience for members and all others conducting business.
  • Employee Management - Demonstrates the ability to foster a positive and inclusive management environment by motivating employees, maintaining high morale, and supervising staff with fairness, consistency, and integrity. Provides ongoing education and coaching to employees regarding credit union products and services, supporting individual development and performance improvement. Oversees the scheduling, training, coaching, and daily activities of branch personnel; conducts performance evaluations; administers corrective action when necessary; and allocates departmental resources to meet operational demands. Reviews and approves, modifies, or denies recommendations submitted by subordinates as appropriate. Promotes a collaborative, team-oriented culture while actively guiding the professional growth and development of branch staff.
  • Assists Members - Assist members with their financial requests quickly and efficiently. Can identify and complete unassigned tasks without being prompted, and use time wisely, such as opening/closing duties, cleaning, and any other assigned tasks. Financial requests could include, but are not limited to, opening and closing accounts, assisting with any consumer lending needs, answering questions about products and services, researching records, assisting with IRA inquiries, and resolving problems that are within their authority to resolve. Coordinates the resolution of problems that are beyond their authority with the Director of Retail Experience or other Department Managers.
  • Product and Service Knowledge - Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of the credit union’s products and services, with the ability to clearly explain their features, benefits, and appropriate usage to members. Actively promotes solutions that align with member needs while reinforcing the value of credit union membership. Understands and embodies the credit union’s core values and mission, reflecting them in daily interactions. Contributes to the credit union’s culture by fostering trust, collaboration, and a member-first mindset.
  • FSR-Member Education Management: To educate and encourage employees to educate members about credit union products and services. To ensure branch level participation in member education campaigns and incentive programs and ensure employees enter quality referrals with understandable notes in the member education system.
  • Maintains communications with management: Prepares and submits standard reports; attends scheduled management meetings. Monitors branch activities to ensure they are in compliance with established credit union policies and procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Three years to five years of similar or related experience.
  • A high school education or GED
  • Motivating or influencing others is a material part of the job. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others. The role requires a significant level of trust or diplomacy.
  • Must possess good communications skills, ability to produce clear, concise, and correct written documentation; excellent organizational skills; be proficient in MS Word and Excel; be able to operate a 10 key calculator and computer keyboard
Working Environment/Physical Demands

Work involves everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, etc. Employees work primarily in an office setting under generally favorable working conditions. The job requires walking, sitting, bending, stooping, standing for long periods of time, or similar activities. Employees frequently lift objects up to 25 pounds, occasionally lift heavy objects from 26 to 50 pounds, yet seldom from 51 to 100 pounds.
