We are seeking an experienced Branch Manager to lead a high-performing equipment rental operation. This position is responsible for the overall success of the branch, including operations, sales, profitability, employee development, customer satisfaction, fleet management, and safety.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Branch Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach, develop, and retain a high-performing branch team.
- Create a culture of accountability, urgency, teamwork, and customer service.
- Participate in recruiting, onboarding, training, and employee development.
- Establish clear expectations and hold team members accountable for performance.
- Identify opportunities to improve employee engagement and retention.
Sales & Business Development
- Drive local sales and revenue growth.
- Partner closely with the sales team to identify new business opportunities and expand existing customer relationships.
- Lead regular sales meetings and participate in customer visits when appropriate.
- Monitor sales activity, lead conversion, customer growth, pricing, and margins.
- Identify market trends and competitive activity within the territory.
- Support cross-selling and customer-development initiatives.
Operations
- Oversee day-to-day branch operations, including service, yard, dispatch, equipment availability, and customer support.
- Ensure equipment and personnel are deployed efficiently.
- Monitor technician productivity, equipment turnaround times, delivery performance, and overall operational efficiency.
- Identify operational bottlenecks and implement improvements.
- Maintain high standards for organization, productivity, and execution.
- Take ownership of branch-level financial performance.
- Monitor revenue, expenses, margins, utilization, and overall profitability.
- Manage costs while maintaining strong customer service and operational performance.
- Utilize pricing strategies that balance competitiveness with profitability.
- Identify areas of underperformance and implement corrective action.
Fleet Management
- Monitor equipment utilization and availability.
- Ensure fleet levels and equipment mix align with local customer demand.
- Identify underutilized assets and opportunities to improve fleet productivity.
- Minimize equipment downtime and unnecessary dwell time.
- Work closely with service and operations teams to maintain equipment readiness.
Customer Service
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers.
- Ensure customer concerns are addressed quickly and professionally.
- Work proactively to improve customer retention and repeat business.
- Maintain a high standard of service throughout the branch.
Safety & Compliance
- Lead by example and promote a strong safety culture.
- Ensure employees follow established safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular safety discussions, observations, and training.
- Maintain compliance with company, customer, and regulatory requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of leadership experience within branch operations, sales, service, or a related environment.
- Experience within equipment rental, heavy equipment, construction equipment, industrial services, or a similar industry strongly preferred.
- Proven experience leading and developing teams.
- Strong understanding of branch operations and P&L management.
- Experience managing sales performance and customer relationships.
- Understanding of fleet utilization, service operations, logistics, or dispatch is highly desirable.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
- Bachelor's degree in business, operations, or a related discipline is preferred; equivalent industry and leadership experience will be considered.
- Valid driver's license and ability to maintain an acceptable driving record.
- CDL Class A or B is considered an asset.
