Job summary

Baldwin Supply Company is seeking a Branch Manager to provide strategic leadership for our Wisconsin branch. You will oversee customer service, inventory, warehouse workflows, deliveries, and financial controls, while driving safety, compliance and continuous improvement.

Lead a high-performing team, collaborate with Sales and Customer Service to enhance customer satisfaction, and manage branch operations in a fast-paced environment. Travel required.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from High School; Bachelor's degree preferred; 5+ years of management in distribution/logistics
  • Experience in conveyor belting or industrial sales is preferred
  • Proven ability to lead a team and communicate effectively

Responsibilities

  • Lead branch operations across production, fabrication and shipping.
  • Plan, schedule and direct daily/weekly/monthly objectives.
  • Optimize labor costs, equipment efficiency and material usage.
  • Meet sales goals and grow revenue.
  • Drive cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate with internal departments, vendors and carriers.
  • Ensure safety audits and job hazard analyses are completed.

Job Summary

The Branch Manager provides tactical and strategic leadership to drive profitable branch performance. This role leads day-to-day operations across customer service, inventory, warehouse/production workflows, deliveries, and financial controls while ensuring compliance with safety and audit requirements. The Branch Manager builds and develops a high-performing team, champions continuous improvement, partners with Sales and Customer Service to improve customer satisfaction, and uses sound judgment to balance priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff.
  • Oversees the daily workload of the department.
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
Job Responsibilities
  • Instill and drive Employee Engagement and company's Mission, Vision and Values through operations
  • Responsible for planning/scheduling, directing, and coordinating the branch operations for a Production, Fabrication and Shipping department.
  • Plan, organize, and prioritize daily, weekly, and monthly objectives based on business need, product introduction, equipment efficiency and materials.
  • Ensures labor cost, equipment efficiency and material are optimized.
  • Meet sales goals and growing sales
  • Champion, lead and execute cost reduction/continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Respond to customer inquiries, placement of orders for standard products and services, request for prices and quotations, and handle customer credits and complaints.
  • Coordinate activities with internal departments, vendors and common carriers.
  • Responsible for ensuring completion of Job Hazard Analysis, Near Miss Hazard and Behavioral Observations reports accurately and timely.
  • Access, update and maintain detail records of accounts
  • Champion Safety and ensure achievement of the branch.
  • Manage, direct and supervise.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction (including material specs, delivery dates) are achieved on time, at the highest level of quality.
  • Work closely with Sales and Customer Service to proactively address any specification or on-time and full delivery issues.
  • With guidance, provide technical and product assistance to customers in order to generate new and repeat sales.
  • Develop and maintain business relationships with current and potential new customers
  • Manage sales territory
  • Develop new opportunities with existing customers
  • Responsible for developing action plan for revenue growth
  • Travel required
Requirements
Qualifications
Education And Experience
  • Graduation from High School. Preferred Bachelor's degree; a minimum of 5- years of management experience in distribution, logistics, manufacturing, or warehouse operations and/or 3 years of experience in conveyor belting industry or Industrial sales preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively engage with and lead a team
  • Effective selling strategies and techniques
  • Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations
  • Experience of logistics (carriers, shipping policies & procedures)
  • Deliver superior customer service
  • Proven ability to foster and create a collaborative team-oriented work environment
  • Proven communication and writing skills, and be proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Must possess a valid Driver License
  • Available to work extended weekday hours, if needed
  • A minimum of 2 years of Bearing & PT, Automation, Conveying, or other Industrial Component knowledge & Distribution/Operations management.

Physical Requirements / Work Conditions
  • Standing/Walking: Frequently stands and walks throughout the production, fabrication, and shipping areas to monitor operations, conduct safety walkthroughs, and assist staff.
  • Lifting/Carrying: Occasionally lifts, pushes, pulls, or carries materials, inventory, or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Bending/Stooping: Regularly bends, stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls to inspect machinery, inventory levels, and safety conditions.
  • Dexterity/Manual Manipulation: Requires fine finger dexterity to operate computers, tablets, and handheld inventory scanners; requires manual dexterity to handle tools, materials, and safety equipment.
  • Vision/Hearing: Must possess close, distance, and peripheral vision to monitor safety, read reports, and inspect product quality. Must be able to hear and communicate effectively in a high-noise warehouse/production environment.
  • Climbing: Occasionally climbs stairs or ladders to access upper storage racks, mezzanines, or machinery.
  • Endurance: Ability to maintain mental focus and physical activity over extended hours, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends as needed.
