Airgas, Inc. in Columbus, IN is seeking a Branch Manager to oversee daily store operations, drive sales and margins, and deliver excellent customer service.

You will manage inventory, safety, and staff performance while coordinating product delivery and staff training. A strong background in retail or industrial distribution, P&L awareness, and KPI use is essential.

Qualifications

• Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven managerial experience in a customer-facing environment with P&L and KPI use.
• People management to develop and support team in line with policies and laws.
• Strong conflict resolution and customer care capabilities.
• Retail or industrial distribution experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional customer service for internal and external customers and inquiries.
• Support the outside sales team in nurturing existing client relationships and pursuing new business opportunities.
• Oversee daily processing of financial transactions, cash reports, pricing, and deposits.
• Maintain accuracy of back orders, open orders, and PO expediting reports.
• Cultivate inventory levels for the branch and coordinate timely product delivery.
• Lead training for inside sales on product knowledge, policies, and safety.
• Conduct periodic performance reviews and mentor staff in collaboration with HR.
• Serve as a bridge between employees and management to align goals.

The Branch Manager oversees daily store operations to achieve or advance sales and margin goals. This involves promoting sales, delivering excellent customer service, nurturing inventory levels, and balancing expenses through purchase supporting. Additionally, the Branch Manager fosters facility and staff alignment to safety and regulatory standards, empowering team members in providing efficient customer service, maintaining good housekeeping, and harmonizing overall operational efficiency.

• Provide professional customer service for all internal and external customers and call-in product, pricing, and technical inquiries.

• Supportthe outside sales team innurturingexisting client relationships andwelcomingnew business opportunities.

• Support the flow ofaccurate and timely daily processing of financial transactions, including cash reports, charge tickets, coding, costing, pricing, daily cash summaries, and bank deposits.

• Maintain the accuracy of back order, open order, and Purchase Order (PO) expedite reports.

• Cultivate and refineappropriate cylinder and hard goods inventory levels for the branch.

• Process orders accurately and coordinate timely product delivery.

• Facilitate and lead training for inside sales associates on product knowledge, company policies, processes, procedures, and safety,ensuring the confidence thatall associates canperformessential branch functions.

• Conduct periodic performance reviews for branch associates.

• Act as abridgebetween employees and management,providing performance mentorshipand guidance in collaboration with Human Resources and senior management.

• Nurture customer relationships and foster understanding to provide exceptional customer service.

• Guide, develop, and support team members in alignment with organizational policies and applicable laws.

Are you a MATCH?

Required Qualifications:

• High school diplomaor equivalent.

• Proven managerial experience in a customer-facing environment, coupled with demonstrated expertise in Profit and Loss (P&L) management and the strategic use of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to drive performance.

• People Management: Guide, develop, and support team members in alignment with organizational policies and applicable laws, fostering an environment of continuous growth and collaboration.

• Conflict Resolution: Nurture customer relationships and foster understanding to address concerns openly, creating alignment and delivering exceptional customer care.

• Background in supporting and leading teams within aretail or industrial distribution environment.

• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and occasionally up to 125 lbs with the aid of material handling equipment.

• Proficientcomputer skills and an interest in learning new digital tools.The ability to navigate multiple priorities concurrently

• Self-motivated with a focus on contributing to the overall team's success.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively act as a bridge between staff and management.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor Degree in related field.

• 5+ years experience in sales with atrack record of meaningful contributions and experience in the welding industry.

• Experience withinventory cultivationandvendor relationshipsupport.

• Computer experience or basic knowledge ofSAP.
