Branch Manager
Role

The Branch Manager is responsible for leading a team of sales and service professionals to meet and exceed sales goals and service targets. Directly work with members to uncover and satisfy their financial needs. Ensure the operational excellence of the branch and maintain the highest level of member service. "Lead from the Lobby," by greeting members, directing them to the appropriate areas of the branch, and ensuring that the members needs are met. Cross-sell products and services to members and manage overall aspects of running an efficient and productive branch. Create new business through outbound calling and visits in the surrounding market of the branch. Required to process loan requests/applications and submit to underwriting for credit decisions.

Essential Functions
  1. Maintain a highly motivated, well-trained staff, maintaining effective employee relations.
  2. Implement and monitor the budget for the branch.
  3. Apply knowledge of credit union systems and comply with policies and procedures for the branch. Ensure that the branch is in compliance with federal laws and regulations set forth by the National Credit Union Administration, the Bank Secrecy Act, and other regulatory agencies.
  4. Conduct loan interviews and prepares and/or reviews all loan documents for completeness and accuracy and forwards loan application to underwriting for the loan decision.
  5. Evaluate the job performance of branch office staff to ensure quality of work and service to members.
  6. Monitor branch activity, including number of transactions, volume, teller errors, loan volume, teller and loan personnel sales, and new accounts.
  7. Monitor key products and sales within branch to insure profitable and sound business practices and a high quality of service for members.
  8. Manage the security and safety of the branch. Analyze and monitor security and safety policies and procedures on an on-going basis.
  9. Ensure that staff receives on-going training on security and robbery procedures.
  10. Schedule adequate staff to ensure efficient branch operation.
  11. Monitor branch operations to ensure a consistent, professional approach.
  12. Assist staff members in solving complex account problems.
  13. Create and maintain a cross-selling environment within the branch.
  14. Other duties related to essential job functions to meet organizational needs.
Expectations
  1. To contact loan members within 30-days of default.
  2. To develop and maintain business partner relationships within the community and area schools by calling on potential SEG's and coordinating branch participation in community activities.
  3. To meet or exceed the minimum of the established incentive goals
  4. To develop recommendations for cost efficiencies and enhancements to products, pricing, and processes by monitoring trends in operations and deposit services for specific branch markets.
  5. To answer the telephone within three rings.
  6. To respond to all telephone messages as soon as possible and return all calls by end of day.
  7. To maintain a professional work environment and businesslike appearance.
  8. To maintain an excellent knowledge of financial services offered by the credit union; to be knowledgeable of services offered by competitors in the branch market.
  9. To maintain a dependable record of attendance and timeliness.
Knowledge and Skills
Experience

Two years to five years of similar or related experience.

Education

A high school education or GED. Must complete Employee Training Checklist: General Knowledge of all MSR and Loan Functions.

Interpersonal Skills

A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Work requires motivating or influencing others and communicating branch goals and objectives as well as overall credit union goals and objectives. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary. The ability to motivate or influence others is a material part of the job, requiring a significant level of diplomacy, trust and leadership skills. Obtaining cooperation and establishing strong management techniques to produce positive results.

Other Skills

Candidates must have an established history of successfully leading a team of sales professionals in a financial institution or retail sales environment. This position requires a minimum of 2-5 years of financial services experience. Strong sales, analytical, leadership and coaching skills are required. Candidates must have the ability to generate significant branch revenue, provide exceptional member service, maximize sales opportunities and increase member retention. Continually improve banking center performance, operational excellence and associate proficiency. Delight customers and exceed satisfaction goals. Create workforce stability by cultivating an engaged, spirited and well coached team. Drive sales to meet and exceed sales targets. May be required to work weekends and/or extended hours and regular, reliable attendance is critical.
