Job summary

KeyBank is seeking a Branch Manager in the Town of Amherst, NY area to lead a client-focused team and drive small business growth. You will coach staff, build relationships with clients, and ensure compliant branch operations.

The role emphasizes community engagement, talent development, and delivering financial solutions to clients. The Branch Manager will recruit and develop a high-performing team, manage scheduling, and maintain standards of service while achieving branch goals.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a sales capacity with a demonstrated ability to lead and coach a successful sales team.
• Minimum 3 years of demonstrated small business deposit/credit experience and familiarity with small business operations.
• General understanding of financial statements and concepts.
• Demonstrated understanding of consumer credit including loan to value, debt to income and credit reports.
• Demonstrated ability to leverage Centers of Influence (COIs) to further promote business.
• Experience influencing business partners across functions (e.g., Investment Services, Mortgage, Business Banking).
• Strong public speaking skills and effective communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Embed a client experience culture by being present with clients and teammates.
• Engage in outside calling to small business clients and develop community networks for referrals.
• Grow the business through retention, expansion, and acquisition tactics with the branch team.
• Lead and develop the branch team, conveying Key’s products, services, and sales processes.
• Partner with internal and external stakeholders to drive client acquisition and deepen relationships.
• Staff, recruit, interview, hire, onboard, and train branch teammates with proper staffing coverage.
• Coach the team with regular performance management and development plans.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and internal controls across branch operations.
• Oversee daily branch operations, security, and recordkeeping.
• Travel to branches as needed and manage branch location performance.
