Job summary

Unity Bank in Plainfield, NJ is seeking an Assistant Branch Manager (ABM) to oversee day-to-day branch operations, coach staff, and drive sales growth while ensuring compliance with bank policies.

This role partners with Area Manager and Retail Branch Administrator to deliver superior customer service, manage staffing, conduct audits, and implement sales processes drawn from data analysis to identify opportunities and deliver results.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; prior management experience.
• Prior experience in a sales and customer service position.
• Strong knowledge of banking principles and practices.
• Excellent communication and computer skills (Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Create long-term customer relationships and identify opportunities to sell products and services.
• Develop a high-performing sales and service team through coaching and performance management.
• Manage daily branch operations, ensure adherence to policies, and correct issues as needed.
• Conduct accurate needs assessments and provide guidance on banking products and services.
• Open new accounts with complete and accurate documentation.
• Meet branch goals in product sales and customer service levels.
• Schedule staff for adequate coverage and conduct monthly audits and reports.
• Lead meetings and communicate changes in sales, operations, compliance, and policy.
