Base pay range

$113,000.00/yr - $188,700.00/yr

The primary purpose of this role is ultimate responsibility for overall branch performance within assigned Region, with a primary focus on sales, customer service, associate engagement, operational excellence, safety, leadership development, and P&L management. This leader is expected to drive branch performance by approaching the business strategically, studying issues and opportunities within the local markets and working to develop/implement long-range plans that drive business objectives. The Director, Regional Operations will coach and develop the leadership talent within the Region and constantly prepare and lead people through change. This leader must empower Branch leadership to lead the businesses and manage operations autonomously. Leaders are expected to have all branches in a state of sales and service readiness at all times and ensure that all corporate-originated programs are optimally implemented.

Essential Functions:

• Partners with leadership to review Regional strategies and then takes specific tactical steps to execute the strategy successfully across individual branches within the Region and ensures Branch General Managers understands his/her impact and responsibility in delivering to that strategy

• Drives the execution of all corporate and regional programs designed to drive sales and service in the branches; holds branch management accountable for attaining Sales goals while also helping them understand the intent and inspiring them to drive for results on their own

• Ensures that branches within the Region meet or exceed service expectations; ensures Branch General Managers understand of service offered by and capitalizes on available opportunities; champions and embraces initiatives / technologies and leverages them to create a differentiating of service

• Establishes key Regional priorities and communicates those priorities to Branch General Managers to ensure the alignment of the Regional with the overall Pro strategy

• Makes regular visits to Branches in the Region to validate that the standards are maintained at all times; takes swift and appropriate action when standards do not meet expectations

• Reviews branch staffing/payroll and other controllable expenses reports (e.g., sales/payroll weekly reports, controllable expense reports) and takes action when something does not meet company standards; actively looks for new ways to improve branch staffing productivity and ways to reduce branch expenses; partners with and supports Regional Staff (Sales, Operations, HR, AP/Safety, etc.) to ensure execution of operational programs

• Develops Branch Managers into leaders who run stores autonomously and at the highest level of consistent performance; works constantly to stretch, challenge and develop leaders in branches in an effort to keep the leadership pipeline full; attracts and develops talented and diverse employees to drive overall sales and profitability performance within the Region

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• 7+ years of related experience developing and implementing operations initiatives

• 5+ years of experience in retail, warehouse management, MRO

• Comfortable traveling up to 75%

Preferences:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field

• 5 or more years of experience leading large scale implementation of operations initiatives

• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
