Job summary

Court Services and Offender Supervision Agency for DC Headquarters seeks a Supervisory Community Supervision Officer (Branch Chief) to lead a unit within the Office of Community Supervision and Intervention Services in Washington, DC. The position oversees probation and parole case management and staff to ensure compliance with agency policies.

The ideal candidate has federal experience at or above GS-13 level and can provide strategic supervision, program oversight, and timely entry of cases

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in behavioral or social sciences or related discipline with at least 24 semester/36 quarter hours in the behavioral or social sciences
• Combination of education and experience that provided knowledge of one or more behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field
• Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated knowledge of one or more behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage units in the delivery of parole and probation services to offenders for community supervision or investigation
• Direct and manage staff to ensure that all assigned cases for supervision and investigation are entered in the information system timely and accurately
• Ensure programs are in place to effectively monitor offenders compliance with the conditions of parole, probation, or supervised release

Education

Bachelor’s degree in behavioral or social sciences or related discipline with at least 24 semester/36 quarter hours in behavioral or social sciences

Education/experience combination equivalent to a major in behavioral or social sciences

Four years of appropriate experience demonstrating knowledge of behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major
