Job summary

American Rheinmetall is seeking a Brake Press Operator to operate and maintain brake press equipment on our manufacturing floor in Lansing, Michigan. You will read blueprints, set up tooling, load and align parts, and run the press in accordance with specifications while upholding safety, quality, and lean manufacturing standards.

This role requires a minimum of two years of brake press experience, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to 5S and continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED.
• Certifications in press brake operation are preferred.
• Completion of in-house training or equivalent external certification in press brake operations.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints and work instructions.
• Set up tooling in the brake press to meet job specifications.
• Load parts into the brake press and ensure proper alignment.
• Operate the press according to specifications and requirements.
• Understand the functionality of the press brake pendant.
• Ensure the press brake operates safely and all safety devices are functional.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing efforts.
• Support and promote the company’s mission, vision, and values in daily activities.
• Maintain positive working relationships across all levels of the organization.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including adherence to 5S standards.
• Follow all company policies, procedures, external regulations, and legal requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
