Job summary

U-Haul is seeking a Machine Operator to set up, operate, and troubleshoot brake press machines for production. You will read blueprints, follow work orders, and perform quality checks to ensure parts meet specifications.

The role requires a high degree of mechanical aptitude, brake press experience, and English literacy. Training and a supportive team environment are provided, with paid holidays, personal time, vacation time, and company uniforms.

Qualifications

• High degree of mechanical aptitude.
• Experience with brake press machines.
• Ability to write, speak and read in English.
• Must be able to pass print reading, measurement, and fraction/decimal conversion tests.

Responsibilities

• Access programs, set tools, operate and troubleshoot brake press machines for production.
• Perform duties as specified by work orders, blueprints, sketches or verbal instructions.
• Conduct daily maintenance on machine.
• Read blueprints and work instructions to determine appropriate operations.
• Use inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, tape measures, squares) for quality checks.
• Ensure all jobsite safety procedures and standards are followed and met.
• Observe and listen to machine operation to detect malfunctions.
• Understand, support, and implement company housekeeping, safety and quality policies.
• Other duties as assigned.
