Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ brake press operations experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ brake press setups experience.
  • Proficient in math and measurement reading.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and work orders.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform offline programming using specialized company software.
  • Set up and operate brake press machines to bend, form, and fabricate metal parts.
  • Coordinate with team to move finished parts to next stages.
  • Read blueprints and work orders to determine machine settings.
  • Make tooling changes and adjustments to maintain precision.
  • Inspect parts with calipers, micrometers, and gauges for quality control.
  • Log job data into ERP system and complete required paperwork.
  • Train or coach junior operators on setups and troubleshooting.

Job description

The Brake Press Operator 4 – Offline Programmer is responsible for performing offline programming, job dispatch, setting up, and operating brake press machines to bend, shape, and fabricate metal components according to specifications. This role requires a keen eye for detail, mechanical aptitude, and adherence to safety and quality standards in a metal fabrication environment. This position will have expertise with blueprints, precision measuring tools, and CNC or manual brake press equipment.Essential Duties and Responsibilities• Perform offline programming utilizing specialized company software• Assist in job dispatch as needed• Set up and operate brake press machines to bend, form, and fabricate metal components.• Perform programming operations on brake press machines.• Adjust settings/programs as needed.• Produces simple to complex parts (multiple bends and bend sequences).• Coordinates with team on transporting finished parts.• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work orders to determine machine settings and part specifications.• Perform machine adjustments, tooling changes, and troubleshooting to ensure precision and efficiency.• Inspect parts using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to maintain quality control.• Maintain a clean and safe workspace by following safety procedures and using proper protective equipment.• Work closely with supervisors and team members to optimize production efficiency and meet deadlines.• Perform routine maintenance and report machine malfunctions or maintenance needs.• Follow company policies, safety protocols, and quality assurance guidelines to ensure compliance with industry standards.• Accurately log job information into ERP computer system.• Accurately fill out required operations and quality paperwork.• Train and coach employees on fundamental brake press operations including setups and troubleshooting.• Other Duties as Assigned: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
