Job summary

The Village Companies – MCL Industries Division is seeking a Brake Press Operator in Pulaski, Wisconsin. This hand-on role involves forming sheet metal, maintaining the press brake, reading blueprints, and inspecting parts in a safety-focused environment. Requires a High School Diploma and press brake experience.

Schedule is Monday–Thursday, 2:00pm–Midnight with a base pay of $24.00–$28.00 per hour plus a $2.00 shift premium. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and more.

Qualifications

  • Press brake experience required.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Strong math and measurement skills.
  • Basic computer skills for reporting and records.

Responsibilities

Position Summary

This position is responsible for forming different substrates of sheet metal. These responsibilities include shaping metal, maintaining press brake, reading blueprints, completing inspections, packaging, lifting, and moving of parts & inventory, using a forklift, and following safety regulations.

  • Ensure safe working conditions are being maintained in your area.
  • Participate in implementation of safety projects when asked.
  • Minimizes hazardous wastes from processes, continually seeking alternatives.
Quality
  • Adhere to product verification systems in place throughout build process.
  • Understands preventative and corrective actions and adheres to them.
Teammate
  • Promote teamwork, communicate effectively, and provide feedback on progress to your Team Leader.
  • Adhere to company policy and ensure procedures in place are followed.
Technical
  • Troubleshooting and problem solving to resolve any equipment or technical issues
  • Adhere to technical and quality standards put in place by Team Leader.
Requirements
Education and Training
  • High School Diploma
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Press brake experience is required
  • Understanding of how to read blueprints
  • Computer skills
  • Knowledge of manufacturing basics
  • Ability to follow direction
  • Flexible and can quickly adjust to change
  • Basic use of inspection tooling (tape measures, calipers, etc)
  • Good math skills
  • Knowledge of different types of material
Travel Requirements
  • Minimal
Physical Requirements
  • Be able to lift at least 25 lbs. and up to 75 lbs. throughout the day
  • Sit, stand, and bend throughout the workday
Safety-Sensitive Position

Brake Press Operator role is considered a safety-sensitive position. Employees are responsible for operating and working around manufacturing equipment, power tools, moving machinery, and material handling devices where inattentiveness or inability to safely perform assigned duties could result in injury to themselves or others. Employees must be physically capable of performing the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, and must consistently demonstrate the ability to work safely, follow safety policies, and maintain situational awareness in a manufacturing environment. Safety performance is a critical component of successful job performance in this role.
