Job summary

Mayville Engineering Company, Inc. is seeking a Brake Press Operator to set up and operate brake presses in our Wisconsin facility. You will follow blueprints, lay out stock, and position parts using manual handling or crane assistance to form metal parts.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED with reliable teamwork and a solid work ethic; related experience is a plus as we value safety and precision in production.

Responsibilities

• Turn setscrews or bolts to fasten clamp bar that holds dies in position.
• Write part programs and store in machine.
• Lay out or detail layout on work stock from blueprints.
• Position work piece manually or with crane.
• Start machine to bend or cut metal and verify dimensions.
• Make adjustments as needed; perform other duties as assigned.

What you will be doing as a Brake Press Operator:

• Turns setscrews or bolts to fasten clamp bar that holds dies in position.
• Writes part programs and stores in machine.
• Lays out or details layout on work stock from blueprints.
• Positions work piece manually or with crane.
• Starts machine to lower ram or depresses pedal to activate ram that bends or cuts metal.
• Verifies dimensions of work piece and make adjustments if necessary.
• Other duties as assigned

What it takes to be a Brake Press Operator with MEC:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training is preferred.
• Ability to train and work with others (Team Concept).
