Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent training required.
• Minimum of three years’ experience preferred.
• Certification by American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic Technologies (ABRET) or clear path to certification.
• Current CPR certification and CE requirements maintained.

Responsibilities

• Complies with HIPAA and OSHA rules and regulations.
• Gathers pretest patient history and adjusts EEG procedures accordingly.
• Prepares patients for EEG testing and places EEG electrodes using the 10-20 system.
• Monitors patients during EEG testing and observes seizure symptoms.
• Reports patient findings to physicians for immediate review when needed.
• Maintains EEG equipment and coordinates follow-up with physicians.
