Job summary

The Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital Association is seeking an EEG Technician to perform Electroencephalograms (EEG) that assist in diagnosing neurologic disorders. The technician will prepare patients, operate equipment, and assist the physician.

This role requires a high school education, experience in related fields, and a Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.

Qualifications

• Electrode placement and operation of recording instrument.
• Completion of an accredited Electroneurodiagnostic Technology program preferred.
• Basic Life Support certification required.

Job Description

The EEG Technician will work under general supervision while performing an Electroencephalogram (EEG) using specialized equipment that monitors brain activity to assist in the diagnosis of neurologic disorders. The technician will also assist with specialized testing to evaluate muscle and nerve function.

Responsibilities

• Collect patient medical history prior to testing.
• Identify locations on the body where electrodes will be placed.
• Attach electrodes and operate the recording instrument.
• Assist the physician in conducting studies, prep the room and equipment, and prepare the final interpretation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

• Education: GED or high‑school education required. Graduate of an accredited program in Electroneurodiagnostic Technology or one‑year certification from college/technical school preferred.
• Experience: Minimum one‑year related experience and/or training preferred.
• Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
