Job summary

The Allen Institute is seeking a Research Associate I to join an interdisciplinary spatial transcriptomics team. You will execute a variety of laboratory tasks in a high-throughput setting, following SOPs, and contribute to high-quality in situ hybridization data to characterize brain cell types.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a life science or related field.
• Basic knowledge of neuroscience and cell biology.
• 0-2 years of laboratory experience.
• Hands-on experience with microscopes and imaging workflows.

Responsibilities

• Operate fluorescence imaging microscopes.
• Handle mouse and human tissue.
• Perform histological staining (Nissl, IHC, Biocytin, ISH).
• Prepare and assemble custom slides and imaging chambers.
• Operate imaging equipment and analyze data while maintaining quality control.
