Job summary

Minds Matter LLC in Overland Park, KS is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate, plan and provide therapeutic intervention for acquired brain injury. You will work in home and community settings, coordinating with families and case managers to meet individualized goals.

The role requires eligibility for Clinical Fellowship Year and a commitment to evidence-based practice. Travel to client sites and collaboration with other professionals are expected.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a Speech Language Pathology program from an accredited university.
• Currently eligible for the Clinical Fellowship Year.
• Experience with people with disabilities is appreciated.

Responsibilities

• Administer speech and language evaluations.
• Develop speech exercise programs.
• Consult with and refer consumers to additional medical or educational services.
• Know and implement all aspects of Minds Matter LLC. Philosophical principles for effective service delivery.
• Assist individuals to identify their needs and develop appropriate compensation techniques for brain injury.
• Test and evaluate consumers’ abilities and analyze medical data to determine best therapy methods.
• Recommend changes in consumer environments to support needs.
• Evaluate progress and prepare reports detailing outcomes.
• Educate consumers and families about communication techniques and strategy use.
• Integrate employment, education and independent living goals into therapy.
