Young World Physical Education is seeking a Teacher of the Visually Impaired for the Irving Independent School District. The role involves providing direct and consultative services to students with visual impairments and teaching crucial skills like Braille and early literacy. Responsibilities also include IEP development and collaboration with educational personnel. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree and valid Texas teacher certifications. This is a full-time position with travel across the district and flexibility in work conditions.

Formación

• Bachelor’s Degree and valid Texas teacher certification required.
• Certified as Educator of the Visually Impaired.
• Excellent command of UEB Braille and Nemeth code needed.

Responsabilidades

• Provide direct/consultative services to students with visual impairments.
• Teach Braille, Early Literacy Code, and other skills.
• Assist in the development and implementation of the IEP.

Conocimientos

Excellent command of UEB Braille and Nemeth code

Knowledge of braille pedagogy

Ability to teach braille to advanced learners

Comfort and skill in teaching functional daily living experiences

Knowledge of low vision tools

Ability to administer and interpret assessments

Effective interpersonal communication skills

Understanding of human behavior dynamics

Drive to use personal vehicle

Effective use of Microsoft Office

Bachelor’s Degree
