Job summary

EOS Hospitality in Florida is hiring a banquet server to set up function areas according to banquet event orders, greet guests, take beverage orders, and serve food and beverages per BEO. You will handle wine service when required and ensure guest satisfaction throughout the event.

You will perform pre-service tasks, assist with side work, manage cash handling, and maintain clean service areas from setup through breakdown, while adhering to safety and allergy awareness policies.

Qualifications

• Complete pre-service tasks including filling ice bins, garnishes, stocking service refrigerators, lighting candles, cleaning and folding linens.
• Knowledge of table and seat numbers.
• Beverages knowledge and ability to suggest offerings.
• Greet guests as they enter the event.
• Take beverage orders, serve food as listed on BEO, and perform bottle wine service if required.
• Deliver food and beverages, check guest satisfaction, and assist with payment processing.
• Maintain clean workspaces and perform side work tasks.
• Handle guest complaints professionally and escalate when needed.
• Follow safety, sanitation, and cash handling policies.

Job description

Purpose: To provide food and beverage services for in-house guests and diners, with a passion to exceed one’s dining experience expectations.

JOB SUMMARY:

• Set up function areas according to standard based on banquet event order and floor plan provided.
• Complete all pre-service tasks to include but not limited to filling of ice bins, cutting fruit for garnishes, stocking service refrigerators with cream, milk, juice, and water, icing and watering glassware, lighting candles, refilling salt, pepper, sugars, coffee, and espresso, folding linens, taking trash and recycling out, wiping down tables, chairs, and sweeping of floors.
• Knowledge of table and seat numbers.
• Responsible for some beverage knowledge, with the ability to make suggestions to guests and inform offerings.
• Greet guests as they enter the event.
• Take beverage orders, serve food as listed on BEO, and collect food orders if a la carte options. Perform bottle wine service if required.
• Deliver food and beverages to guests, check for satisfaction and ensure guests have everything they need.
• If needed, present check to point of contact for payment and processing.
• Seek ways to elevate service at each touchpoint. Engage to increase return guests.
• Follow all credit card processing and cash handing policies. Responsible for all payments of service and goods, and any cash collected. Complete shift check out and cash drops with lead/manager. Follow all tip/service charge distribution policies.
• Perform continuous cleaning of workspaces including clearing tables of dirty glass/tableware and bringing to appropriate dish areas/bar areas, wipe and sanitizing tables, sweep and mopping floors, wiping down chairs and booths, wiping tray stands, menus, and other service area organization.
• Complete all assigned side work task lists to include but not limited to polishing glassware and flatware, folding napkins, preparing bread and coffee, re-stocking stations, deep cleaning tasks, taking out trash, bagging/removal of soiled linens, stocking printer paper, etc.
• Check function area bathrooms for stocked items, provide continuous touch-ups throughout the event.
• Break down and complete all post-event tasks such as cleaning coffee urns, wiping and sanitizing all surfaces, ensuring all used tableware is washed and polished, soiled linens collected, floors cleaned, candles and décor collected and stored, proper cleaning and storage of any food display items, etc.
• Practice conscious knowledge of food allergies and safety in preparation. Communicate allergy concerns to guests.
• Professionally handle guest complaints, solve problems, apologize/emphasize during guest complaints, follow up. Communicate any elevated complaints that could not be resolved to Food & Beverage management.
• Demonstrate a team-focused attitude and encourage collaboration.
• Understand and use safe work practices for all safety precautions including Emergency Evacuation Procedures, Violence in the Workplace, Accident Reporting, OSHA Compliance, and Bloodborne Pathogen Procedures.
• Attend meetings and training sessions as required.
• Comply with all policies as outlined in the Handbook, Property Supplement, or otherwise issued including time and attendance expectations, uniform and dress code standards, anti-harassment policy, and substances in the workplace.
