Job summary

Sylvania seeks a Boys Varsity Assistant Wrestling Coach to lead a competitive interscholastic wrestling program. The role focuses on student development, sportsmanship, and ethics in athletics, under the Head Coach or Athletic Director supervision.

You will organize practices, monitor progress, and ensure safety and compliance with district policies. Responsibilities include coordinating competition schedules, traveling with the team, enforcing training rules, and maintaining program discipline

Qualifications

• Knowledge of policies, regulations, and procedures pertaining to interscholastic sports.
• Knowledge of methods, techniques, procedures, and strategies for developing and maintaining an interscholastic sports program.
• Principles, goals, and objectives of public education.

Responsibilities

• Organize, coordinate, and participate in the school site interscholastic sports program.
• Establish performance criteria for competition and evaluate students’ athletic abilities.
• Maintain a positive, disciplined, and competitive program for all students.
• Travel with students and supervise the team during competitions; accompany to games by bus.
• Demonstrate professional, ethical, and responsible behavior in all program phases.
• Explain and enforce rules and training policies affecting health and safety.
• Comply with federal/state laws and district rules; coordinate with IHSSAA.
