Watertown Public Schools is seeking a Boys Middle School Basketball Coach for the Winter 26-27 season at Watertown Middle School. The stipend role requires strong basketball knowledge and a commitment to student-athlete development.

You will oversee the program, supervise staff, and promote teamwork and sportsmanship within the school and town. You will coordinate game-day initiatives, lead practices, and engage with local youth to grow participation in basketball while adhering to district

Salary range: $2,481.00

General Description:

The Coach for the Middle School is responsible for overseeing the overall program of that sport. The Coach is responsible for coordinating and supervising the athletic program and team, fostering an appreciation for physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

Responsibilities

• Planning all areas of their team.
• Leading and assisting their coaching staff in coordinating efforts under one program
• goal and ensuring compliance with rules at all levels.
• Implementation of skill development.
• Coverage of bus trips
• Video analysis of games
• Statistical analysis of games
• Attend all league and local, district, and state meetings when necessary.
• Reach out to local youth groups to promote their respective sport in town.
• Planning award ceremonies and individual award winners

Qualifications Required

• Strong knowledge of the sport is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• A commitment to the academic and athletic development of student-athletes.
• Ability to react to change productively and manage multiple responsibilities.

Preferred

• Previous coaching experience preferred
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university preferred
• CPR Certified
